Fantasy Land is Mark van den Heuvel's most recent photographic series and the next chapter for the pilot — the same helmeted figure first introduced in Where Music Is Born. This time, he has landed somewhere entirely new. The pilot moves through landscapes that feel both ancient and imagined — environments that blur the line between the real and the otherworldly. He explores without explanation, discovers without destination. The visor stays down. The world around him does the talking. The Cave, one of the key works from the series, has been acquired by a Swedish municipality — a formal recognition that this world Van den Heuvel has built is one worth preserving.
